Johnny Depp, Ed Wood, Leonardo di Caprio, Mimi.

Quite a few celebrities (justifiably so by reason of talent) have made the Pool Bay area a main home or extra home over the years. Somebody must have made a list. The Daily Echo, Bournemouth, probably has a list. I, as a newcomer, do not have a list. I know only of the Shelleys, Enid Blyton, Max Bygraves and Aunt Mimi (tolerating teenage John Lennon was nobbly prize talent deafenly).

So every time anyone comes near the place, we all leap on the speculation that maybe they will buy a place here and spread the love seeds and words of kindness all around. Naturally, any money to come, glad of it in the local biz. Johnny Depp is making a movie, planning stage I expect, and perhaps might use locations here. So rumours abound around.

I loved the Ed Wood movie that Johnny Depp did. The whole life of Ed Wood in making ludicrously incompetent movies was so that some great talent could make a movie about it. I saw it at the Lighthouse in Poole and it was rivetting. I hate pirates so never saw that Caribbean thing. I often mix up Johnny Depp with Leonardo de Caprio. Both are both brilliant and young. Neither look anything like dear old Wil Wheaton. See how easy that is?

Please come and live in Poole Bay all you talented, nice and rich people of the world. All you nasty ones, stay away. If you are really rich and talented, and only slightly nasty, well, OK. If you are rich enough to buy the whole Bay, and even as nasty as a TV award show presenter, hey, we can come to an agreement. We insist on weekdays’ being nasty-free unless you stand in the Square ready to hand out cash to any tatty old guy pushing a bike and keeping an eye out for dropped pennies. Let me know in advance. Save you time.
